Those two may not sound like an appealing combination to do within 24 hours... but we did it!!! =P Thanks Leon for organizing this trip... =)
On friday Duncan and I headed over to Shinjuku together to meet up with the CJP crew. We headed over to our ryokan across from Kawaguchiko station to get some rest b4 climbing Mount Fuji the next day.. haha that didn't really happen.

*Mari, me and Shirley in our cozy room
We got to sleep for around 6 hours before we woke up for FujiQ Highland! The first ride we went on was the water log ride... Japanese ppl actually buy raincoats to wear before they go on the ride... but our group decided to be brave and this was the resulting scene:

Then we went on a rollercoaster ride called "ええじゃないか" after a 2 hour wait (yep that's right, 2 HOURS!!) but that was definitely worth it!!! It's the BEST rollercoaster I've ever been on... basically you go up the ramp on your back facing the sky, and when you reach the top there's a little bump where they flip you around so you're actually facing downwards when you get to the 90 degree drop... the rollercoaster also holds the world record for having the most spins (?).. something like that. haha... can't describe in words how good it actually was... I'll let the pictures speak for me:

See the 90 degree downwards drop?? CRAZZZY!!! CRAZY FUN!!! hahahaaa...
After those 2 rides we also went on a ride called King of Coaster Majiyama which was another crazy rollercoaster ride, and a few other ones. Too bad Tongxin, Kamil and I missed the other ride, but that's okay! till next time!
At around 7:30pm we arrived at 富士山五合目, the fifth station of Mount Fuji to begin our hike up the mountain for sunrise. We started off with this group:

but eventually we split up into two, then we split up further into groups of 2 or 3 people. I started off hiking with Lynn, Shirley, Leon, Helen, TongXin, Melody and Patti, but later on I was only with Lynn, Shirley, Leon and Helen, and in the end it was Shirley and I.

On the hike up we noticed there were two hanabi festivals going on down the mountain!! Hehee it was quite interesting watching them from above... like Lynn said, they turned from Hanabis (fireworks) into hana's (flowers)... =) The view from the mountain is amazing... too bad my camera is not good enough to capture it. I hiked up the mountain without a stick or flashlight, and it actaully wasn't too bad. Without having to hold those things I can move more freely. We made it smoothly up to station 8.5... there was a "human jam" there cuz everyone was rushing up the mountain to make it there for the sunrise. On the way up we met up with Vincent, Kelvin, Billy, Duncan and Mari. We finally arrived to the top at around 4am... had a bowl of 800yen ramen (which was actually instant noodles)... then sat back to enjoy the view of the sunrise above clouds.

The hike up the mountain was actually not too bad... it started getting really really cold at the 8.5th station (felt like ski trip instead of mountain trip), and I started getting a headache from station 8.5 onwards. >< That was not fun... and the oxygen I bought didn't really help. Nonetheless.. the Asahi was definitely worth the pain that seems insignificant anymore. =)
At around 6am we started hiking down the mountain. We got to the 5th station at around 11am, took the bus back to Kawaguchiko station, grabbed some souveniers then trained back home. By the time I was home.. it was already 5pm.. @_@... 32 hours without sleep and I was exhausted. But what did I do?? Sleep?? Nope! I was trying to get
this... Pink DS Lite selling for half price... but there's only 24 and they're only selling one every 3 hours. Out of the 8 times I got into the checkout screen twice but was still beaten by the time I hit the checkout button. ~><~ I want half price DS Lite!!!
Anyways.. I finally got to bed at around 11pm... woke up for work at 8:30... almost missed the bus (but didn't, fortunately)... and here my week begins again.....
===========================
This trip was great... except...... I lost 2 things that may seem trivial to others, but are very important to me... oiy. I was quite upset by the end of the trip so I'm sorry if I spazzed at you.
slowing losing pieces of memories.....

Today I stayed at work from 9:45 - 7:15... hehee 9.5 hours!!! Wow that's a new record for me... Anyways, I was so tired this afternoon that I took a nap in the staff resting room for 15 minutes... lied on the sofa and passed out.. LOL haha it felt so good!! I dun think anyone saw me sleeping but even if they did....... meh!! I think this should be one of the benefits for flex-time workers right? (even tho I have core hours) =P
