TGIK! + random2.rar

Have I posted this b4? heh well anyways, I learnt from Asami san that Japanese people, instead of saying TGIF, say TGIK! For those of you wondering what the 'k' stands for... it stands for 'kinyoubi'(金曜日) which means Friday in Japanese... XD

Yesterday on the bus to work Billy spotted a 80% Jay Chou lookalike!! Haha.. he looked at least 80% like Jay Chou... just a shorter and chubbier version... and I was saying how Jenn will go crazy if she sees him.. =P hehehe... post some pix later.

Played with Billy's guitar yesterday... its actually quite fun!! But its all about chords... and I'm extremely bad with chords... >< Now I miss my piano..... maybe I can borrow Meghan's keyboard, but it still feels different!! Crazy plan.... christmas carols tour during Xmas?? XD Let's do it let's do it!!

After 3 months my mom's first msn message to me:
"Hi Nui Nui, no more ice cream lar, little fattie."

=============================
Probably should compile this for future reference...
A list of Japanese translated english abbreviations
・プチ = Petite
・W = Double
・コンビニ = Convenient Store
・プリクラ = Print club (sticker pictures)
will add to the list as I remember more....

Badminton terms:
・ノック(knock) = Feeding
・ノック練習 = Drills (which of course, tranlates to "knock practice")
・フェイント(faint) = Fake
・ヘアピン(hairpin) = Netshots
・Nice Service = Nice serve
・Nice Judge = Good eye
・Nice Pause(?) = Good play (at first I thought they really meant nice pause as in pausing to try to fake your opponent out, but later I realized they say it even when its a smash, whcih has nothing to do with pausing.. -_-;;)
・ドンマイ = Don't mind (used particularly (and excessively) in badminton games, where people would say "don't mind desu" when the person they are cheering for misses -_-;; when did "don't mind" turn into a noun??)

Other related badminton terms I've learnt:
・おしい = That was close!
・でかい = Oh shit...
・いたい = I'm surprised!
・サウスポー(southpaw) = Leftie... ex. KSo is a southpaw LOL

=======================================
Replies to comments:
Wilsilon: Yeahh I taught them my nickname "ROZ".. haha but they have trouble pronounciating it. But my new nickname is 63!! Ro(ku)Sa(n)!! XD

KSo: you're a southpaw... heheee duno why they use that term here for baddy. And stop "fainting"!! Thanks for the suggestions!

Bearz: Hehee I DO miss all of you la!! And I've actually "deproved" a lot ever since I got here... *sigh* haven't gotten any proper training and my consistency is going down the drain.. ~><~ anyways... you seem to be having an awfully busy term as well! 頑張れ!

Boon-Hau: I still haven't met you yet Boon-Hau! Hehee maybe when I visit Kansai in November we will have a chance to meet!

Gloomy days....

The weather these days are so gloomy.. at 11:39am the sky is filled with gray clouds and it's raining like hell.... such depressing weather!!

Quick update for the past weekend:
FUR came over by night bus on saturday so Billy and I met up with her in the morning and we did some shopping in the Shinjuku area. After that we headed over to Ryokoku to watch some SUMOs in action...!! It was actually quite entertaining... during the final match of the day where the Yokozuna lost to his opponent, all the audience threw their mats onto the stage. Can you believe that? Japanese people being unorderly? That is the first time I've ever seen chaos happening in Japan.. lol... anyway, they were throwing mats cuz when the Yokozuna pushed the other guy out of the ring, the guy jumped so the Yokozuna fell on the ground before the other guy landed outside the ring. There was also apparently some hair pulling involved... whoa.. hehe now that's not something you see every sumo match. XD

*Sumo shaped Omiyage... XD so cute!!

After sumo we met up with some more people and had AYCE beef and pork shabushabu!!! MMmm... I LOVE beef... haven't had so much beef in a looong while. The only thing they're missing is SATAY sauce! >< Oh well... still good!! After dinner, we went to get a few drinks and then we split up. Clem and Neil went to a club with their friend "Charles" lol... and Kevin, Billy, Jenn and I were originally gonna hit up some Karaoke place for the night, but those who have read my previous post will probably know that that didn't happen cuz K places were all too expensive! So we ended up in a manga cafe.... and spent 2.5 hours sleeping there...

So here the story continues, we wake up at 5am and headed towards Tsukiji Fish market, only to find that they're CLOSED on sundays!! >< Man..... I'm sooo sorry Jenn, Billy and Kevin.... =P Anyway... Kevin headed home after, while Fur and I took a nap, did a bit of shopping then headed to badminton!! XD that's right.. badminton after 2.5 hours of sleep... omg.... we ended up getting there fairly late but still got to play 3 games of doubles.. =) Feels different when we play togehter.. >< lost part of the "connection", but no worries we'll gain it back when we're both back in Vancouver!!!

After baddying... we headed back to Shinjuku to return the Nanospeed 9000 that we borrowed (it actually felt REALLY good.. the NS9000 S)... and then had Monjayaki for dinner. The waiter was kinda cute actually.. lol and we made him cook monjayaki for us cuz neither of us knew how to make it. Finally we met up with Billy and headed home... it was one looong weekend... felt more like one looooooooooooong day to me.

Will post pictures up in a bit....

==========================================

Looking forward to CRAZY Tokyo tour this weekend and WingSoul baddy!!
Tsukiji Fish Market attempt #2... keke and Sega Joypolis @ Odaiba!

Baddiholics: I got a request from WingSoul saying they wanna see how "Canadian training" is like, so they asked me to plan this weekend's training schedule... =P Basically I have 3 courts (only ><), 3 hours and 20 people. What kind of drills should I do??
Suggestions please... drills that would optimize court time and minimize waiting time. (I already got a few from Jyh.. thanks! ;) )

Also.. looking forward to Hokkaido trip NEXT weekend... XD

So occupied with thoughts these days...

Stuck in Shinjuku at 2:30am...

Yep... that's right I'm stuck in Shinjuku for the whole night with JENN as planned... but wat did not go according to plan was the expensive karaoke places... so we ended up in an internet/manga cafe instead. from 2am-5am its 800yen.. not too bad...

Fur is here to visit... XD We went to watch sumo match today. Will update more and post pix later... tomorrow.. or I mean.. in 3 hours.. we'll be going to Tsukiji fish market for some fresh sashimi/sushi... mMmm... then if we still have energy we're gonna go badminton....

Ookie.. I think I should get to sleep.. only have 2.5 hours... its gnona be a looong weekend... goodnight peeps...

Mark: I should eh.. hehe I shoudl have icecream at every place just for the pic.
Wilsilon: haha I am having a lot of fun here... =P but spending a lot of moeny at the same time. Half a year of vacation... i wish.. haha work can get pretty tiring sometimes....

沖縄 and Koala bears gambling

Wow I can't believe the long awaited Okinawa trip is over.... man... it was SOOO beautiful there and it was sooo fun. 果然是"日本Hawaii"... Despite typhoon (which I found out was going at 50m/s much later) on Saturday our trip still went very well... but anyways... I hope BILLY and VINCENT had a very happy birthday!!! XD

We did so many fun things at Okinawa... 国際通り、伊計島、美ら海水族館、Pineapple Park, 平和公園... but I think the most remarkable event was Friday when we did all the water sports at Ikeijima... man it's so pretty there... we went snorkeling, jetski-ing and banana boat-ing. Yuri is the best instructor ever!!! She kept asking me 大丈夫? during jet ski, and I kept going もっともっと!! lol I think she was amused by us Canadians' fearless-ness. hahha... anyways... it was nice swimming at the beach too... even tho there were non-poisonous jellyfish which stung us once every 10 seconds.. XD That's not gonna stop us from having fun!! After that we ate at a famous taco restaurant called Charlie Taco's (apparently Okinawa learnt how to make taco's from mexicans long time ago and had developed their own Taco making methods)...

*My first and probably my last time wearing a bikini... XD

On saturday we toured around Northern Okinawa.. Nago Pineapple park with all u can eat pineapples (too bad I'm not a big fan of pineapples), and lots of omiyage to try... lol we got so full from trying out all kinds of omiyage there. After that we went to Churaumi Aquarium which is world famous for...?? lol I'm not too sure. I loved the huge aquarium they had tho... with many groups of fishes, 2 whale sharks and numerous Manta Rays. After that we went back to Naha in the crazy rain and wind and we had dinner at a local restaurant which served 琉球料理 and had a dance show...

The next day we headed to Shuri Castle but didn't go in cuz they charge 800yen admission to the main castle (such a rip off! ><)... I swear japanese have the best ideas to make money off people. Along the way they had all these stamps where ppl can stamp on a pamphlet u can get at the entrance.. and once you start collecting them u'd want the whole set so I guess some people would be suckered into paying 800yen to go in the castle. =P Anyway... we had Shuri soba for lunch and that was sooo good... XD Then we headed to the cactus park but it was closed so we went to peace memorial park instead. At that place I felt a sense of solemnity but that feeling disappeared when we had the Uber yummy UBE icecream. XD After that, we headed down to a small peninsula of Okinawa and we drove down to a beach and had a BBQ there. It was sooo fun cuz it was my first time making a fire on an empty beach when it was almost pitch black at night... cooking Yakisoba and Gyoza on an aluminum tray... and playing with FIREWORKS... hahaha fireworks that Billy thought were SPARKLERS and ignited in his hands.... and fireworks that backfired at Kel.... good times... XD It was such a great end to the trip.

On monday morning, Kel and I headed to Kokusai douri to pick up more souveniers (I got us another team shirt, Fur!! and I also got a shirt that is a ripoff of Adidas.. it says "aidesu"(愛です) instead...XD love it!!) before Billy joined us. Then together we headed back to Tokyo.... *sigh* Okinawa... you will be missed!!!

Blogger is refusing to let me upload photos... so that'll have to wait...
================================

After heading back to Tokyo I met up with Billy and his friend Will... we walked over to 衣笠公園 in an attempt to head over to 猿島 but the last ship was at 5pm. Then we decided to have dinner at a steakhouse.... mMMm... beef... I missed having beef steak soooooo much!!! >< I wish their primerib wasn't sold out tho.... then we went to K and by the time I got home I was exhausted....

Something worth blogging.... yesterday I headed over to Billy's and Billy, Will and I started to "chai mui" where the loser has to take a bag of Koala bearz chocolate. haha actually I don't mind losing but Will and Billy was so intense that their hands were shaking... lol great fun...... let's do this again someday. =P Anyways it was nice meeting Will... =D

I woke up in the middle of the night with a left calve cramp a few times already... ><
I wonder if I'm over stressed.....

WTF... (part 2) + 緑区ダブルスオープン

I just had the most freakiest experience ever... holy shit.
Thanks Billy (Lam) for saving my life...... I owe you one.

This time... the culprit is..... *drum roll* A GIANT COCKROACH...
And Neil u lied... cockroaches here aren't dumb... the one in my apartment crawled SO FRIGGIN fast......... freaked the hell out of me ><

====================
緑区ダブルスオープン 女子4部 優勝!!

Aside from that freaky experience, today was a great day. I won Midori Area Doubles Open in 4th level with Ray san. XD It was good although I wish we had joined level 3 or 2... -_-;; 雖然贏了可是有點勝之不武的感覺. As you can see from the pic they're all aunties... we took the second strongest team out before the semi finals. -_-;; Maybe next time!!! And man... I like playing with Ray but I MISS PLAYING WITH U SO MUCH FUR!!!! ~><~ On the other hand... today I saw a reeeeally hot guy at the tourney.. and guess wat... he's good at baddy too, he's the winner of level 1 Open doubles!!! OMG... he's cuter than Daniel Wu that's how cute he is... too bad I didn't take any pix of him >< maybe next time!! *edit* found a pic of him from last year's tourney!! But it's blurry.. waiting for this years' pix:

*as you can probably guess, its the second guy from the right in the front row.

I also got the Tshirt I won from last tourney today.. the size I got (M) is too big.. -_-;; Oh well!! I guess its okay!!! Today Masa san said he'll give me a 羽魂 team T-shirt for memory.. number on the shirt is 63 cuz it stands for ロサ(リン) XD!!!!!!!! うれしい~ He also treated me and Ray to dinner cuz we won the tourney!! =D So nice~!

Update more pix on this entry with Ghibli update later...

My new baby

Did you know...?
In japanese the word 不倫(ふりん)means having an affair.
In english the word FLING means the same thing...
I wonder if the similiarity in the pronounciation of the two words is a coincedence... ??

I think I'm gaining all the weight that Andy and Leon are losing. -_-;;
on the other hand, thanks to Billy I've finally been eating some better dinners... XD

Who would've thought you can peel a kiwi with a spoon??

Fur: like the title? =P

Baddy + Hamburg Steak dinner!! XD

I'm feeling quite good today cuz of 3 things
1. Finally fixed the bug that I had no clue how to fix!! Props to Sakurai san for his advices... XD

2. Badminton!!! That's ALWAYS a plus... the only bad thing was that most ppl went on summer vacation so there were only a total of 9 of us there.

3. DINNER!! Man.. the highlight of my day... 平さん、佐藤さん、中沢さん and 3 other ppl (whose name I forgot) went to a place that had Hamburg steak (basically, a thick slab of beef patty) for half price ¥499!! This is as close as a beef patty can get to a steak...

I think this is a combination of HK style Teppan-steak and real steak... people here have those napkin things that they hold up when they pour the sauce on top of the patty... hehee sounds like HK steak doesn't it? We can actually order the patty RARE (which was their おすすめ)... a rare beef patty.. sounds so unsafe lol. Anyways... that was a good dinner... mmMMm.. gonna go back every first wednesday of every month!!!

And for those who are interested... on the 18th (monday) 吉野家 has cheap 牛丼!

江ノ島 ・横浜ベイスタース ・DS LITE ・chiropracter

The taste of home...!!
Thanks Billy for cooking me a dinner that tasted like home today... mMMm... good stuff!! XD

Wow I haven't blogged for almost a whole week... oops. =P That is all thanks to the DS Lite I got last week.. and the MaxDrive that Mark sent me (thanks XD) which I immediately uploaded 10 games onto and got instantly addicted to it. I already finished "Feel the Magic".. gotta download the sequel "Rub Rabbits"!! I am also halfway through "Trauma Center"... never thought I'd be interested in performing surgeries. LOL... soooo addicted!

Been so busy at work these days trying to finish up my paper that's due next week when my program doesn't even work properly yet. >< I don't like this feeling of trying to attain the unattainable...

Thanks Raymond for visiting and bringing me to all these new baddy places!! XD Here's a pic of us kaiten-sushing...

Anyway, to quickly sum up my weekend, on Saturday I went to Koto lessons with Billy and Duncan.. it was quite interesting and I learnt how to play "Sakura" on koto! The sensei was actually in her kimono and had her hair set up and all that... it was pretty cool. XD

After that, Billy and I went to Enoshima Beach to join Neil, Clement and Kelvin with their beach party. We got there just before sunset and it was really pretty and fun.. I love the beach, it feels so comfortable and soothing just to sit there and listen to the waves. After that, the other Billy joined us and we went to dinner and ice-cream after. Mmmm.. that was a good dinner. =D

On Sunday, the bunch of us went to watch a baseball game (Yokohama Baystars vs Hanshin Tigers). Btw, fyi Kel, 阪神stands for 大阪 and 神戸 so when ur wondering why ppl call them Osaka tigers, itz cuz its a part of it.. Anyway.. the game kinda sucked.. Yokohama lost 0-8... however, I still bought a Baystar player #5 Takuro Ishii T-shirt... cuz he looked cute on the poster. XD

And finally.. TODAY.. I had my first ever chiropracter experience in Japan cuz my badminton injuries were really bothering me and I couldn't stand it anymore. I saw this place near my train station online, so I called in and booked an appointment. It was rather interesting... cuz when I found it, it wasn't really a clinic, it was just this one little house.. and when I walked in.. there wasn't any receptionist! Just the chiropracter himself... a man in his mid-30's? Well... it felt kind of odd but I thought since I was there anyway, I might as well go for it. So.... the experience... was truly a painful one. >< It was okay when he was fixing my back but when he got to my stomach, it was so friggin painful... he said my 内臓 is very stiff.. In medical (or chiropractic) terms, stiff = cold. Every chiropracter seem to have some kind of pride because very soon, he started dissing my chiro in Vancouver, saying "The stomach is the core of your body. How can he not pay attention to it? よくない"... lol poor Chester.. Oh and of course, aruond 90% of the conversation was carried out in Japanese, which I only understood around 50%. -_-;; He also said that he can cure my completely in 5 treatments... which translates to 6000 + 5*4000 = $260CDN... I wouldn't mind paying that amount of money if he can really cure my injuries completely.. Anyways, here comes the worst part of the treatment... since he said my body is very "cold"... cold food such as icecream is ダメ........................ why dun u just kill me?? >< Anyhow, the chiro was very nice and he had a very soothing voice. =D I'm going there again next tuesday......
